Create places to meet
Small groups on a human scale, attentive to the culture here, where people genuinely know each other before anyone talks about programs.
A movement in the heart of the Maritimes
Projet Acadie helps new French-speaking Christian communities take root — churches, small groups meeting in homes, and circles of friendship — always alongside the churches already there.

The Maritimes
Our context
Acadian communities rooted here for generations live alongside people who arrived recently and neighbours reconnecting with French. Many are looking for somewhere to ask their questions and live their faith in their own language.
Small groups on a human scale, attentive to the culture here, where people genuinely know each other before anyone talks about programs.
Supporting bilingual women and men who want to lead a French-speaking community and care for the people in it.
Many French-speaking families arrive in the Maritimes every year. We want them to find a community here, a friendship, and a place that is genuinely theirs.
What we believe
Projet Acadie is an initiative of the Union of French Baptist Churches of Canada, carried out with Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and The Task. We move forward listening to communities, serving leaders, and staying transparent with local churches.
A partnership
Projet Acadie brings together national French-language expertise, a network long rooted in Atlantic Canada, and hands-on experience helping new Christian communities begin.

About The TaskA relational approach
Four movements that keep the project rooted in prayer, in the culture here, and in the life of local churches.
Understand the language, history, needs and strengths of each place.
Discern with local churches which doors are genuinely opening.
Stay with the people carrying a French-speaking community, over the long term.
Help simple communities begin that can, in turn, help others begin.

Faith questions
